Goals from Daniel Brooks and a hat-trick from Dan Campbell set Gadeside on the way to a comfortable win over Cassiobury Rangers as they regained top spot in the Olympian Premier Division.
In a general scrappy first half, Gadeside enjoyed the vast majority of the possession but lacked a killer instinct with a number of sloppy mistakes in good positions. Dan Campbell's prod from 8 yards was just over the bar while Tom Shurville fired just wide after a strong run from midfield. The deadlock was broken on 23 minutes as Gadeside scored with a very pacy counter attack. Good interplay between Daniel Brooks and Ivanz Mani allowed Adam Hills to free Dan Campbell who in turn crossed for Brooks to score from close range after running 70 yards to score. The visitors had a couple of chances as well - looking especially dangerous from their long throw ins. Their best chance came just before the break when Gadeside's defence got sucked in but a Cassiobury player smashed high and wide from 10 yards.
Gadeside looked so much more fluent in the second period and found a balance with Adam Hills switched to the left hand side of midfield. It was from a wide position that they doubled their lead on the hour when good build up from Brooks and Danny Everritt freed Ivanz Mani who crossed from Dan Campbell to score from close range. The goal deflated the visitors and Gadeside attacked at will and it was Campbell who was causing problems with his strength. He received a pass from Toby Zhou, turned a shot across the keeper into the far corner to seel the victory. At the other end, Sam Green twice superbly tipped round the post after Cassiobury caused more problems from their long throw expert.
Tom Shurville headed against the crossbar and Ian Freeman suffered the same fate with a long range effort while Toby Zhou somehow managed not to score from all of a yard after more good work by Ivanz Mani. The game was wrapped up in the final minutes when Hills found Campbell who drilled a fierce drive past the keeper to complete his second hat-trick and complete another good day at the office for Gadeside.
