Gadeside Rangers suffered a humiliating defeat to Leavesden Green as they crashed out of the Herts Senior Cup at the first hurdle. It was a dejected performance from Gadeside who played the game with many players out of position and the difference showed as Gadeside caved in and were soundly beaten.
It started badly as Gadeside found themselves two goals down early on, one which saw Danny Everritt turn a low cross into his own net. But Gadeside began to get back into the game before half time and pulled when back when Adam Hills tucked away a penalty. Russ Popplewell thought he had brought the scores level when he headed home Jason Brownhill's cross - but (somehow!) the linesman's flag was raised.
The second half was a sorry affair as Gadeside fell apart under heavy pressure by the Leavesden forwards. Adam Hills sliced a clearance past Rob Metcalf as Leavesden pressed on and turned the screw leaving Gadeside to lick their wounds on another heavy defeat.
